Spotlight: Pretty Fluffy

When I started the Daily Dog Tag I was in over my head, knowing nothing about blogging or social media (I still have lots to learn!) .  One of the kindest and most supportive pet bloggers was Serena Faber Nelson, the genius behind Pretty Fluffy. We  have exchanged a number of emails and I’m certain that her personality matches her lovely appearance. Quite honestly, if I had discovered Pretty Fluffy before I had hired my web designer, I may not have started the Daily Dog Tag.   I’m so excited to share these  gorgeous  photos by Rose Punch from Petal Photography of Serena and her awesome Border Collie, Soda.

From Serena:  “Soda has been with me for the last 12 years. I got her as a puppy when I was only 21. I’m quick to tell everyone that Soda was the best decision yet the biggest mistake I have made in my life. The best decision because she’s my constant companion and best friend. I truly feel like we’re two peas in a pod. She’s mine, and I’m hers. 

Why then my biggest mistake? Truth be told, Soda was from a pet shop. Back in those days, I had no idea the sad truth behind pets shops – that most of their dogs come from puppy mills. That’s why these days I’m a big campaigner against puppy mills whilst also being a passionate advocate for rescues.

I feel by being open and honest with my story, people can learn from my mistake and open their home to a dog that needs their love. Because really, no matter what breed or type of dog you’re after, with a bit of research and patience you can always find your perfect match waiting for you in a rescue shelter. Yes – even puppies! #AdoptDontShop is now my motto – Live it. Love it.

Having Soda in my life has really shaped my whole world. When my (now) husband showed up on my doorstep for our first date, he was the first man Soda cuddled up to straight away (I still think he had treats in his pocket!) 

When I started Pretty Fluffy, it was my passion for living not only my best life but allowing Soda to live her best life, that was the true inspiration. We now have readers from all over the globe visiting daily for inspiration on how to enjoy a fun, stylish and fulfilling life with their dog.  It’s my firm belief that a dog should be a member of your family – whether that means baking them home made treats, taking them on family outings, or including them in the family portrait – they’re a member of the household and including them in the fun just adds to the joy of life.  I finally feel like Pretty Fluffy is what it’s meant to be.   I’ve made it a place to visit and click around when the mood takes your fancy!
