I am lucky to be part of a community of wonderful photographers. I met Brian Friedman a few years ago. Recently I asked if he had any photo sessions he could share with me and it turned out he had the perfect one:
Dogs In the City: Guest post by Brian Friedman
No “subject” makes me smile like a dog does. I grin from ear to ear when I see dogs in the street, at the park, at a friend’s house; anywhere. It can be any dog – any size, breed, color, etc. They are all phenomenal animals and have such diverse personalities. They crack me up!
Among many things, Justin helps connect dogs that are up for adoption with good owners. It’s through Justin that I got my own dog, a female miniature schnauzer, Kennedy. Justin’s organization, Funny for Fido, has raised funds that go to the various animal rescue organizations in the New York Metro area through stand-up comedy fundraisers. Because of this, I decided to donate a photo shoot to Justin to help raise awareness for his organization.
We took to the streets of NYC with Justin’s own rescue dogs, Pacino and Chiquita.
These two amazing dogs love to play and to love their friends; dog AND human.
Along with Justin, they might look a little tough, but they are the kindest dogs you could meet.
Recently Justin landed his own TV show on CBS called ‘Dogs In The City.’ I’m so fortunate to be the unit photographer on the show, and have been documenting the process Justin goes through helping the dogs and owners live happily ever after.”
Brian is a great photographer; and Justin looks like he is going to be have a great show!

I’m so happy to be a part of this wonderful blog. I love dogs so much – it reminds me to be around them even more (which is almost impossible because I’m a dog owner myself) and to PHOTOGRAPH THEM MORE!!!
