Emilee Fuss in an extraordinary pet photographer in southwest Florida. I am a huge fan of her work and could hardly wait to share her photos with you! Emilee credits her success to her best model, Buddy. He is a handsome black lab who wandered into Emilee’s backyard and her heart six years ago.
Stunning, right? I could just stare at these photos forever. But the thing I enjoy the most about Emilee and Buddy’s photos: the love. In every “Buddy” post on her blog, you can tell how much Buddy means to Emilee. And when I look at Buddy’s photos, I see a dog who is both loving and loved.
From Emilee: “Buddy showed up in my backyard six years ago. It was just three days after my fourteenth birthday, so I’ve always considered him my “birthday present from God.” He had a collar, but no tags or chip, and despite our best efforts that included calls to the shelter and vets in the area, no one claimed him or reported a missing dog. Sometimes I like to think he just dropped out of the sky and into my life. It took no time at all for him to completely take over my heart (and our couch, lol). He is one amazing dog: loyal, obedient, gentle, protective, handsome and most of all, one big baby… a 90 lb lapdog.
Buddy is an awesome model. Without him, I know I wouldn’t be a photographer. He patiently endures everything I ask him to do for a photo … He is my best man!”
I’m happy that Emilee and Buddy found each other! I’m pretty sure that Emilee and Buddy have inspired a few more people to become photographers. You can see more of Emilee’s photography on her blog. I’d love to hear how your dog has inspired you.

Buddy is so handsome. Emilee is fortunate that God brought Buddy to her. My lab Bandit was a gift from God. Despite my initial efforts to find him a good forever home it became clear to me that his home was with me. Some of the mischief Bandit has gotten into over the years still make me smile.

My Buddy was a cat – but he came to me in a very similar manner – and I am so grateful to have had a real bud. Emilee’s Buddy is magnificent.
