I think sending Save the Date cards are the perfect way to announce an engagement, and if your dog can spread the news, so much the better. I’m loving all these Save The Date photos with dogs.

From Jeannine Marie Photography: “Amanda and Jason wanted to feature two of their favorite things in their engagement session: their dog and the Minnesota Wild.”
From Marirosa: “From the moment we started planning their engagement session Jessica and Alex knew they wanted to include their fur babies! These two dogs were adorable and the best of friends!”
From Jessica: “The little one is Duke, he is a 9-year-old Silky Terrier and the bigger one is Sasha, she is a 6-year-old Siberian Husky. Duke is the sweetest little guy there is. He loves cuddling up with you and just hanging out. He loves to be outside when it’s nice and warm, but if it’s raining or cold he wants nothing to do with outside. Duke loves to be carried and go for car rides, as long as he can sit on your lap. Sasha is also a sweetheart but way more active. She loves to be outside no matter what the weather is rain, shine, or snow. Sasha loves other dogs and loves to run and play. She loves to swim whether it is in the pool, ocean, or a pond.”
Bethany, Jake, and their dog had their fall engagement session at Sunken Gardens in Rochester, New York with 13 One Photography.
From Mark Dickinson Photography: “Lauren and Jared let their pup announce the wedding date.”
From Lauren: “Panda is a 7-year-old Black Lab Mix who brings happiness to her parents’ lives every day! She enjoys outdoor sports like jet skiing, hiking, going to the beach and long runs! She also loves pillows, giving hugs and taking long naps! Panda was the honorary ring bearer at her parents’ wedding and did a perfect job!”
I am pretty sure that no one is happier than Chase that his humans are getting married. If you are thinking Chase looks familiar, it is because he was recently featured. Photos by Robyn Blasi Photography.

Well, maybe his humans are just as happy as Chase.
Jada from 205 Photography wrote: “Elizabeth and Steve wanted their engagement session to take place in downtown Birmingham near sunset and with some night shots, which are my favorite! Elizabeth’s favorite holiday is the 4th of July because she is a big fan of fireworks so her wedding date was Saturday, July 5th. We got a chance to use sparklers in a couple of her engagement shots to fit this fun theme! I love that they brought the black lab, Solider, to the session too.”
From Julia Jane Studios: “Emily & Chris are an amazing couple who have a true love for each other (and their two dogs!) So it felt only natural to include Lucy and Stanley in the shoot. We even had some fun creating a save the date with frisbees. Lucy & Stanley just wanted to play, but we did get them to sit NEXT to the frisbees (even if they really didn’t want to hold them and pose! Dogs will be dogs.” You can see more of Lucille and Stanley here.
Limelight Photography: “I met this beautiful couple at this unique location in Orlando. There is this huge, amazing, old oak tree there that people call “The Mayor” it made a wonderful backdrop as did the rest of the park… not to mention the weather was gorgeous as well. We had a blast trying to capture the “whole gang” … which included their 4 dogs.” You can see more of Stella and Mickee here.
From Tiffany Lee Photography: “Rebecca and Justin, they truly are best friends, and couldn’t be happier. Additionally, they love spending time with their dog Kimora.”
From Melissa Miksch Photography: “Jen and Sean were introduced through friends aware of their mutual interest in baseball. The conversation flowed from one thing to the next, and in no time they began to officially date. The couple moved into a place next to a public park with a beach nearby, where they enjoyed taking long walks on with their dog, Izzy. They often looked for sea glass during these walks, and one day Sean called Jen over to look at one he claimed to have found. Instead of sea glass, it was a diamond ring that he held in his hand. They decided their beach was the perfect location to have their engagement session done, and of course, Izzy needed to be the star! It was a quintessential Washington evening, with a good dose of clouds and just a bit of breeze.”
From Lillie Fortino: “Cat and Adam wanted to document their engagement with a winter-season, beach themed portrait session. The couple worked with me to customize and personalize the photo session with multiple outfit changes, including one that adorned the colors of their favorite team, the Ohio State Buckeyes, details that will be incorporated in the wedding, such as champagne and hand-help party poppers, and incorporating their two beloved pit bulls, Brutus and Stella.”
Beth T Photography sent this happy engagement session to me starring Blythe.
I hope that including dogs in engagement photos and save the dates just keeps on getting more popular!
