Life should be full of simple pleasures, and it seems like summer gives us the most opportunities to enjoy them. Good friends, ice cream, and a day at the beach are some of my favorite things. Rosie the Pit bull/Terrier mix also enjoys all of those things thanks to her new family. Khailah from Simply Perfect Photography adopted Rosie earlier this summer from Cenla Alliance for Animals.
From Khailah: “We adopted Rosie named Dottie at the time, this past June at a recent adoption event held by ‘Always Adopt.’
She was a rescue puppy from Cenla Alliance for Animals. Her mom was found in a parking lot in Louisiana. She gave birth the next day to a litter of ten puppies.
We recently decided that our children, AJ (8) and Nola (5) were ready for a little responsibility. After a few months of asking for a dog, we decided our family was ready. We headed down to the Adoption event. Rosie was the first puppy we saw. It was that moment I really felt like she and I connected. She was beautiful, and her sweet little eyes drew me in. We left the event, but hours passed and we all could not get Rosie off our minds.
Thirty minutes before the event ended we went back to adopt Rosie. She had three people submit adoption applications. They were all denied. It was as though she was waiting for us.
I truly think she was meant to be a part of our family. She is the calm to my chaos. Rosie is mellow, sweet, and extremely loving. She has been the completion of our little family. We could not love her more!”

This is such a beautiful adoption story! I think Rosie definitely was waiting for her new family to return for her! It’s the greatest feeling when you’ve working at an adoption event and the person or family you knew would have been perfect COMES BACK for that dog or cat and takes them home!! Ugh, I have tears in my eyes now!! Thanks for sharing this incredibly uplifting story and these gorgeous photos of Rosie and her new loving family.

Oh, my goodness! I love this photoshoot and post! That top photo so speaks to me as my 20 month old grandson greets our ice cream truck all the time with his grandfather! So sweet!
