Happy National Puppy Day! Colleen Paige created National Puppy Day to encourage people to adopt puppies instead of buying them. Jellybean is so dang cute that she is our poster pup for the day. Thanks to Cassidy Nunn from Nunn Other Photography for sharing Jellybean’s photos.
From Cassidy: “Jellybean is an American Bully/Lab cross puppy from Broken Promises Rescue.
She was around 9 weeks old at the time of this session. Out of seven puppies in the litter, only three survived. Jellybean is full of life and her favorite activities include hiking and running around holding the ball in her mouth.
She has many other four-legged friends.
This session was photographed at Island View Beach on a chilly, windy day in Victoria.”

When the time comes to add a canine member to your family, please consider adoption first.
There are many puppies available for adoption as well as breed specific rescue organizations if you have your heart set on a purebred dog.
Otherwise, find a reputable breeder. An ethical breeder is not breeding for money, but rather for the love of the dog and the breed. Dogs sold in pet stores are usually from puppy mills. Some cities now require that pet stores can only sell rescue dogs.
Recognize the signs of unethical breeders.
Don’t buy a dog online.
You can report a puppy mill to the Humane Society as well as your local authorities.

Jellybean! You are soo sooo cute! Just goes to show how easily you can adopt a precious puppy from a shelter or rescue instead of supporting breeders. I hope she finds an amazing home. I bet she will make a family very very happy!

What a perfect name for a puppy! Also, Jellybean’s eyes are really striking – talk about windows of the soul. I hope she finds a wonderful, loving home soon.

OMG!! The cuteness is strong with Jellybean! I am so in love with her and will reach out to couple of friends in the Vancouver area to see if they might be able to help spread the word and find this love bug a home!

Such a great post. Jellybean is so cute! It’s so sad that pet stores are still selling puppies from puppy mills… Thank you for continuing to encourage people to adopt, not shop!
