August 26 is National Dog Day! Ideally, I’d like to spend National Dog Day at the beach with about a hundred dogs. Unfortunately, the closest ocean is about five hours away from me. So my sister, Alice Patterson, put together this fun flat lay with a beachy feel.

The fishing lure is adorable! It looks like it’s made of terrycloth or something similar, which my dog would love. Anything that’s soft and rough at the same time appeals to him.

We love to cuddle! Walk are fun too, but cuddling is where it’s at.
I love this! I was trying to decide what I was going to do with my office now that we moved it into the room next to our master. This gives me some ideas 😉
My favorite activities with Ruby are cuddling on the couch. Whenever I get up early to write, she gets up with me and keeps me company. Also, loves walks and picnics with her.

Oh a beach day would be lovely but we went a few weeks ago and while not quite as far as you, it’s still a bit of a drive. Mr. N will have to make do with a long walk and some ice cream maybe!

I always sing that song when I take the dogs out because it makes my daughters laugh. I love playing fetch with my dogs. To do so at our beach is just icing on the cake!

This is such a nice way to celebrate this special day. Your picture is beautiful! I will admit though, I didn’t know the purpose for National Dog Day was to shine the light on the inhumane conditions in puppy mills. I feel dumb admitting that. Quite honestly, if this is the case, I will approach my images and posts accordingly next year. Thank you for highlighting a VERY important issue.

Both my dogs and both of my cats (all the pets haha!) are from the shelter or strays, so national dog day definitely means a lot for us! We spent it inside because of the rain from hurricane harvey, but had a good play session!

I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen a blue Kong. Loving the theme though, im told my favorite color is no longer green but blue(our 5-yr old daughter tells me so)

Like the fish lure toy! I used to live within 90 minutes of the beach and rarely went. Now that I live in the Midwest, I am so missing the beach! Like taking long walks with my dogs. Good exercise for all of us!
