As someone who has a odd obsession with Newfoundlands (odd because I’ve never known one personally), I understand how people love certain breeds. So I’m always thrilled to feature a purebred dog who is also a rescue, like Zoey. Zoey’s session with Charlene from Custom Portraits by Charlene, shows just how great a rescue dog can be.
From Amanda: “Zoey was adopted from Airedale Rescue of the Delaware Valley. She is 4 years old and an absolute sweetheart in every way.
She is very well behaved- free roam of the house while my husband and I are at work all day, and she gets along well with all people and any dog except small white ones. (She was nipped by my grandma’s dog at a very young age and holds the grudge against any and all little white dogs!)
Her favorite toy is the ‘suspicious chicken’ as its labeled, and her favorite food is yogurt. She is a neighborhood star with lots of friends on our walking route. We laugh because her foster mom warned us, ‘she isn’t very affectionate.’ But she is the most snugly, loving, 70 lb ball of fur.”
