Mini sessions like this one from Nashville pet photographer, Mandy Whitley, are perfect for so many reasons! In addition to spending quality time together, the beautiful images will help make the memories last. Otis, the Border Collie-Australian Shepherd mix, seemed to enjoy his time in the limelight!
From Mandy: “Jen adopted Otis from the Humane Association here in Nashville when he was about ten weeks old and just a little fluff ball. A year later, when he started herding everything in sight, she discovered he is a Border Collie-Australian Shepherd mix. Otis is eleven now and is a big brother to his younger pup friend, Fergus, and two beautiful human kids. Jen decided to do this mini session with just her first baby so that they could spend a little quality time together.”
From Jen: “Otis turns 12 this December, on 12/12.
We call Otis the ‘Hamburgler’ after an incident where he softly took an entire McDonalds hamburger from my toddler’s hand without the child knowing.
For his tenth birthday, we made Otis a peanut butter muffin and lit one candle on it to sing Happy Birthday. We didn’t know how excited he’d be. He jumped at it, and nearly caught a whisker caught on fire.
Otis has the best wiggle butt and a tail that requires a lot of room to wag. By the time Otis was two, he had knocked off so many wine glasses from the coffee table with his tail that we permanently switched to plastic cups.
If anyone is on the couch, Otis curls up beside them to snuggle. Sometimes he lays his paws on your legs, just to be sure you won’t go anywhere.”

Hi. I ran across Otis’s page after doing some research as I just adopted an Aussie/Border Collie mix. Looks alot like Otis.
Was curious how you keep him so nicely trimmed. Do you get a puppy cut at the groomer? If so, how often?
Thanks so much for any feedback!
He’s beautiful
