Although I thoroughly enjoy every breed and mixed breed dog, I love being able to feature something less common. So I was excited when Gayle Driver sent me this session of Mina, the Neapolitan Mastiff.
From Gayle: “My sister, Lisa, has recently adopted a new dog. Her name is Mina and she is a 3 year old Neopolitan Mastiff. We had Christmas dinner at my house this past year and my sister came home for Christmas and brought her new pup with her. Mina is the sweetest dog. Enjoy this little fun photo shoot in our backyard we had while she was home for Christmas.”
From Lisa: “Mina is a 3 year old Neapolitan Mastiff who was returned to the breeder by her owner because she could not get pregnant. (Her previous owner bought her for breeding purposes and when he couldn’t make any money off of her he returned her in exchange for another puppy.) I found out about Mina because I had contacted the breeder to purchase a puppy after Phinn died last May. When I heard about Mina I couldn’t resist. She sounded like the sweetest girl ever and I was looking for a companion that I could take to work with me and would love to ride in the car, and would sleep in my bed, and just be my best friend.
The only problem was…she was in Texas! So after we realized it was a perfect fit made from heaven, she was put on a plane and flew from Texas to Virginia to be in her home sweet home forever. She is the sweetest angel of a dog that I have ever known. She loves her stuffed animals and loves children, strangers, dogs, cats, everybody!!! She is a dream come true for me and the sweetest most loyal companion any dog lover could ask for.”

I love all mastiffs; and all the Neapolitans I’ve had the pleasure to meet have been very sweet dogs.
