I love seeing holiday photos of dogs. These dreamy holiday photos of Maddie, the Great Dane, and her favorite human, Alex, were taken by Ellie McKinney Photography.
From Ellie: “Alex and Maddie first met at a breeder’s house. Maddie just had a litter of 11 puppies. Unfortunately, Maddie developed mastitis. Although Maddie was no longer part of the breeding program, the breeders intended to keep her as part of the family. However, while visiting, Alex fell in love with Maddie and jokingly asked if she could adopt Maddie instead of one of the puppies.
At first, the answer was ‘hell no!’ But after thinking about it, the breeder realized that Maddie’s active personality would be better suited with Alex where she’d get one-on-one time.
She’s six and a half now and is with Alex in every step of life. Some even call her Alex’s shadow.Alex’s family jokes that she thinks Maddie is a Chihuahua because she takes her everywhere. To this day, Alex is close to the breeders and takes Maddie to visit them.”

This is a beautiful story! It sounds like they’re perfect for each other.
Such a wonderful story! I had the opportunity to adopt Truffle’s mom kitty when my breeder was retiring, but I knew I couldn’t handle 3 Persians.
I think it is really important to not overextend yourself, especially when pets are concerned. Having more pets than you can take care of just hurts all of them. If it were up to me, I’d probably have more dogs than I should, but my husband is a lot more realistic than I am.
Maddie is the most beautiful dog I have ever seen! She has such a beautiful relationship with Alex.
How very ehtereal and other worldly even with a dog that is not small! These images are delightful! Well done!!!
What a beautiful photoshoot! I just love holiday photos that include dogs! And Maddie is particularly statuesque.
I absolutely love taking holiday photos of my dogs, they’re so special and I really have fun with it! Maddie looks perfect with her holiday wreath, it’s all she needs to be festive.

A big thank you to Alex for adopting Maddie! She’s so beautiful and I love that Alex takes her everywhere.
