The importance of a life well lived and the souvenirs to remind us of those happy times have reached a new level of urgency for me. One of the best reminders for me is photographs. From Mercedes: “Will is currently serving in the US military. While on leave visiting his family, his wife, Casey decided it would be fun to celebrate their anniversary and get a few photos of the whole family which included their sweet rescued dogs Lily, a yellow Lab and Albus, a Clumber Spaniel.
They’re big fans of Austin so we hung around the quirky South Congress area. Lily happily lumbered along but you could tell Albus kept a close eye on all the goings-on. “
From Casey: “Lily is 3 and we think Albus is 5. I found Albus walking around my neighborhood early one morning. When we realized he did not have a microchip, we took him to the Killeen Animal Control Shelter, hoping that his owners would find him. After not being claimed for a few days, we went back for him.
They are both the sweetest dogs. Lily loves to play, and will roll over onto her back when she meets another dog.
Albus loves affection, and will immediately run to your side if you call him, where he’ll smother you for hours.”
