Whenever I learn about a snowstorm in the Northeast, I not so secretly hope that it means more snow sessions from Kathryn Schauer Photography. These photos of Henry the Cocker Spaniel mix are magical! I can’t come close to choosing a favorite, each image is stunning.
From Kathryn: “The shelter director(Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter in Branford) is Betsy’s friend and neighbor and suggested Betsy keep Henry for the night, despite Betsy not being convinced she wanted a puppy.
Of course, she fell in love!
Henry was advertised on Craig’s List, he was only eight weeks old. Luckily, someone at the shelter saw him and rescued him.”
If you or your dog isn’t a fan of snow, don’t worry, Kathryn takes beautiful photos year round!

These are beautiful shots of Henry. Hmm is it me or doesn’t he look like an old soul? Lovely brown eyes. The snowy scenery looks like a storybook fairytale.

Such a serious pup…love all of the pics but the one where he is looking upward is my favorite. Is he mixed with poodle? He has a lovely coat and coloring.

Kathryn’s photos are so stunning. It looks like a winter wonderland and Henry is so cute. Such beautiful light and scenes. You have inspired me to take Kilo the Pug out before our snow melts again (we had a fall yesterday).

This Craig’s List is evil. People put cats there and its a black place to be.
Henry is indeed fortunate to be rescued and brought to such an enchanting place!

Love this white on white composition! and the lighting is absolutely stellar. What a cutie too!! Made me not so sad that we still have 8 weeks of winter to go.

“The shelter director convinced her to keep Henry for the night”. Hahah. That’s the oldest trick on the book to convince someone to take a puppy. Great photos!!

I’m glad it worked!

Such beautiful photos of Henry and the snow. I have some photos I took of the girls with their first and only snowfall a few years ago. They are some of my favorites!

I think I remember those photos, they are special!

Henry is adorable and these photos are just stunning! So did Betsy keep Henry for good? Maybe I missed that part.
Beth says
She did!

The cuteness is too much, no wonder she couldn’t say no! I think I’d have caved myself.

Beautiful! I love taking photos of my dog in the snow, I think it really adds a wonderful background. Edie would much rather prefer summer photos, but snow beats rain pics any day 😉
Joelle says
What a perfect shoot. The colors are beautiful and the pup is gorgeous as well. I would love to have a professional photo shoot with my pups, if for nothing else, but to have the memories when they’re gone.

I think it is such a comfort to have photos of loved ones who are no longer with us.
