A quick look at the weather map revealed that most of the country is bitterly cold today. The exception seems to be the Southwest which is where lucky dog, Clancy, lives. I don’t use the phrase “lucky dog” lightly in this case. Besides living in a warm and beautiful place, he managed to escape death at least twice. Melissa Dunstan and Kristen Carnes from Tangled Lilac Photography spent an afternoon photographing Clancy.
From Melissa and Kristen: “At 14, Clancy is enjoying his golden years in Arizona. He was adopted at the Humane Society and has enjoyed many years and many adventures with Kathy. However, Kathy knows he won’t live forever and wanted to get some great photos of him while he still felt great. It was a wonderful afternoon getting to know them both!”
From Kathy: “Clancy is a Rhodesian Ridgeback / Lab mix. He is a rescue dog from the midwest. Clancy was chained outside in all kinds of weather for about 9 months. He was placed in the prison system to be trained by prison inmates. However, Clancy was too wild and he was scheduled to be put down. I heard about him and decided to bring him home. That was 14 years ago. We celebrate his birthday on St. Patrick’s Day. He is a cancer survivor and a loving, loyal friend. He loves the woods and swimming in Lake Mary. He is quite handsome and I’m excited to see him get his moment in the spotlight.
