Snow-loving dogs are one of the perks of winter. Thanks to Charlotte photographer, Casey Hendrikson, for sharing these photos of Chewie and Molly enjoying a big snow!
From Casey: “When I heard we were going to be getting between 4-6” of snow in the mountains AND I had a free weekend, I immediately packed the pups up, booked us a hotel, and off we went!
On the way, we found this cute little pull off area that overlooked a stunning river.
Someone had actually just been by, and built a 6′ snowman!
Chewie loved pouncing through the snow while Molly just wanted to roll all in it.
Towards mid-afternoon, we finally arrived at Western Carolina where students were out sledding and building the biggest snowmen possible. My sister was there, so we surprised her and her friends with a visit. Needless to say, these two were a huge hit.
We spent the night all cozied up and then got up early the next day to find it was STILL snowing. Now we were up to a solid FOOT of snow.
I knew we needed to get back to Charlotte before roads got too bad or traffic started, so we packed everything, and headed out. On the way, I saw a sign for an orchard and figured it might be a good empty spot to let Chewie and Molly chase each other around. To my great surprise, this place was PERFECT. The snow was up to 14 inches deep. Poor Molly was struggling to bounce through it all, but Chewie sure loved it.
Especially since they had just trimmed the trees, which means sticks were EVERYWHERE!”

Dogs and snow are such a great combination! It is so funny to see how they react to it and they look soooo cute surrounded by a winter wonderland! I took my dog to the snow once and love the photos I have of him there.

OMG! How adorable are these pictures! I was so looking forward to taking some snow pictures this year, but Texas didn’t really get any snow. You dog is super cute!

My little one is such a trooper in the snow. Following us leap frog style as we snowshoe. But this winter has been far colder than usual – even by Ottawa standards – with -40 on the regular. Even the huskies are hunkering down. GORGEOUS photos … giving me a desire to capture my little fellow this way!

They’re having so much fun in that snow. And playing together. And the photos are fantastic.

These photos are so fun! Henry and Jack are winter dogs. Henry does snow angels, too. In fact, he’d fit right in with these two ‘peaches and cream pups.

These photos are just magical! I so badly want to take Babu to Tahoe (it is covered in snow now) and see what he does!
