Rescue dogs Lucy and Rossi didn’t just tag along for this engagement session on a boat with Jill Gearhart Photography; they made it awesome! Even if you don’t love all things nautical, I think you’ll enjoy these photos. The quiet beauty of the Allegheny River is the perfect backdrop for these pictures.
From Jill: “This couple is the epitome of easy, relaxed summer love. John and Casey spend their weekends on Jon’s boat on the Allegheny River with their two pups, Lucy and Rossi! The boat is their happy place. Jon even told me that sometimes Casey has to force him to leave and go home!
His impressive boat has a cabin underneath, which was helpful for outfit changed for their adorable sunset engagement session! These two have been together for years, and their sweetness and love for each other showed in every photo.”
From Casey: “Rossi joined our lives when I was in college at Penn State. I adopted him from Centre County PAWS PAWS rescued him from a kill shelter in South Carolina when he was six months old. Ross, now four, is a happy-go-lucky boy that won’t leave our sides (especially when I’m cooking).
He loves car rides, playing Frisbee, hogging our entire bed and going on boat rides where you can catch him launching off the back to retrieve his water toys.
Ross and I moved for work, and we realized we were pretty lonely, so I wanted to find him a friend. We took a trip up to LaMancha Animal Rescue and fell in love with a little 5-month-old spotted mutt named Romy. He and I both loved her immediately, but we changed her name to Lucy.
She was a little shy at first and still pretty skittish at times, but she’s grown to love our on-the-go lifestyle. Lucy, who was one year old in these photos, loves playing fetch. She also enjoys stealing Ross’s bones and burrowing her way into our pillows every morning to lick our faces.
Lucy and Rossi are an integral part of our life together, so we had to include them in our engagement shoot. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to attend the wedding, but we’ll save some cake for them!”

What a beautiful couple and two adorable dogs! The photos with the river are stunning. I’m completley jealous they get to boat in that paradise all the time! Those are some lucky dogs!

I’m a little jealous of them too. I used to drive along the Allegheny River on my way to college, it is really beautiful. I bet it is even prettier on a boat!

I completely agree!

Love the boat dog pictures. And yes, a power boat is a much easier setting for pics than a sailboat. Lots of room. 🙂

I was wondering about that!

Lucy and Rossi are adorable. I really like that the photo shoot is on the water. Too bad they can’t be part of the ceremony but glad they could be part of this lovely unique engagement shoot.

These photos are so cute!! And I love that they brought the dogs along as well. If we had done engagement pictures, our dog absolutely would have been present.

I am a real fan of dogs, that’s why I appreciate these pictures. The setting is well chosen and the pictures are beautiful. In addition, I find the initiative very commendable to put in values these beautiful little dogs on their pleasure boat
