In case you didn’t get enough sweets yesterday, I’m sharing Oreo and Snickers today. They are Pomeranian-Shih Tzu mixes otherwise known as Shiranians. Alyssa Barletter photographed these two sweeties during an engagement session with their humans.
From Alyssa: “Whenever clients ask me if it’s okay if they bring their dogs to a session, I want to reach through my email and give them a big hug and say ‘OF COURSE YOU SHOULD!!!!’
Jenny and Kevin’s pups are too cute. They had a blast walking around Loose Park with us.
Last winter, Kevin’s sister reached out to me to ask if I would be able to photograph a surprise proposal at Kansas City’s Union Station. YES! Always yes. Last summer Jenny and Kevin decided to also do some engagement photos with me. I had so much fun! These two are naturals in front of the camera and had killer outfits too!”
From Jenny: “Oreo (brown colored) is eight human years, and Snickers (white multi-colored) is seven human years. They both have birthdays in May, just a week apart.
My two dogs are both male Shiranians (Pomeranian + Shih Tzu mix) who are incredibly loyal and will follow me around all day. Oreo is an intelligent, albeit lazy, furball with a body so soft, he makes for the perfect comfy lap dog that resembles an Ewok.
Snickers is a friendly, yet protective when he deems necessary, furry mop. He’ll be the first to lie down next to you and ask for a belly rub.”

Great names Oreo and Snickers and they’re so precious!! I didn’t know they were called Shiranians…interesting. Since our pets are part of the family, they should absolutely be included in photos and making them a part of such a special occasion makes for even more special memories.
Every photo is THAT much better because it includes a furry companion. LOVE these shots!!!
Both furballs are adorable! All of my photographer friends are pet photographers so I don’t even ask about bringing the dog lol.
