I’m a big fan of freckles, on people and on dogs. I love Kaya’s freckled belly and the fact that she was included in her humans’ engagement session with Ashley Kidder from Urban Safari Photography.
From Ashley: “Craig and Miriah are two avid outdoorspeople (I don’t think that’s a word but we’re going with it!) who are getting married up in the mountains of Colorado this August 23rd. They chose the AA Barn, which is a cute, rustic little barn smack dab in the middle of Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s situated next to the Colorado River which is perfect, seeing as how they both love to fish. They’re definitely planning on getting some wedding photos in their fancy wedding attire in the river, doing what they love.
For their engagement session, they chose Riverfront Park in Denver, which has a blend on natural scenery with a touch of urban spice. They brought along their super well-behaved Boxer, Kaya Jeanne, who is two-and-a-half years old. They found her from a family who raises boxers in Missouri, and the happy couple mentioned that she ‘is still all puppy at two-and-a-half years as she was at six months old.’
During the shoot, Kaya was calm and well-trained, and she sat well for tons of photos. At the end of the day, I realized it wasn’t so much an engagement session — it was a family session. Kaya is incredibly important to Craig + Miriah, and I’m glad we could capture some photos of the entire family together.”
From Miriah: “Kaya has been the best dog from day one! Everything from her love of cuddling under the blankets to her goofy wiggles. Her favorite activities are hide and seek, fishing and chasing squirrels.”
