I hope you had a lovely weekend! When our friend Carolynn had her baby a few months ago, I decided to make one (or rather two) of a kind shirts for her kids to celebrate. Her dog Ro is so cute and lovable that I can never get enough of her!
Although I know you find this hard to believe, baby Paul is even cuter in person!
Inspired by this DIY tutorial on Martha Stewart, I decided to personalize it. Alice helped me with fabric selection and my husband drew a template of a Shih Tzu. I don’t think of myself as being particularly crafty, however it was too cute not to try. I am thrilled with the results.
Of course I couldn’t leave out big sister Clara and made one for her in her favorite color. I found this super cute pink tee and the onesie at Target. I bought my other supplies (fabric and fusible webbing) at Jo-Ann Fabrics.
Making these shirts was way easier than I expected it to be. They were a great present to give and I think any mom to preschoolers/babies would love for their little ones to wear one. Most moms would appreciate a tote bag with their dogs likeness on it (great Mother’s Day present!)
If you aren’t into DIY gifts for your favorite moms, I highly recommend you surprise them with a pet portrait for Mother’s Day! I think Carolynn is still taking orders and I know she offers gift certificates.
