Best Dog: Mauji

We’re always happy to see a dog at a wedding.  This little cutie was always close to the bride letting  Brittany Anderson Photography  get some great shots!

From Brittany:  “Jeanne and Chris were wed on a gorgeous day in May. If you take a look at the photos you can see that their dog, Mauji (pronounced Ma-Gee),  was a big part of their day. Mauji even wore her own dress! She is one of the most well behaved dogs I’ve been around.  Mauji never strays far from Jeanne. All of these photos are candids!”

From Jeanne:  “We have had Mauji for 2 years.  We went to a local pet store and they had the adoption group, Animal Friends of WV, there.  My husband and I decided to go play with the dogs and there was one dog that just crawled into my husband’s lap and immediately we connected.  The volunteer told us a very sad story regarding this cute dog.  She was living in a bad hoarding situation in the southern part of WV.  The owners were going to get fined and surrendered all the dogs a local pound, a kill shelter.  Animal Friend’s of WV went to this pound and rescued them.  I knew right then and there that we had to adopt this dog.  We were originally going to the pet store to get dog food for our other dog but ended up adopting Mauji. 

The rest as they say is history.  Mauji was only at Animal Friend’s for 3 months before we adopted her.  Animal Friend’s said we could name her whatever we wanted to so we decided to name her Mauji (Ma-gee).  We think she is a Terrier/Chihuahua mix.  It just surprises me how loving she is.  She just wants to sit on your lap and cuddle with you under the blankets.  The vet believes she’s 4-5 years old. “
