November is National Adopt a Senior Pet Month and while I know that lots of people aren’t looking for a new dog to add to their household, I just have to give these wonderful old souls a second chance to be noticed. All of these dogs were photographed by Terran Bayer from Westway Studio and are currently up for adoption from Lionel’s Legacy.
Ol’ Red has one of the sweetest faces . I’m pretty sure he would be the most loyal and devoted companion a person could have.
Although most of my dogs came into my life as puppies, after adopting Theo, I’m not sure I ever want to go the puppy route again. The reasons for adopting an adult dog are many including:
* Most are house trained.
* They have outgrown the chewing phase meaning your shoes and your furniture are likely to be safe.
* Their personalities are developed so you can find one that easily matches your lifestyle.
* They have usually mastered simple commands.
*Old souls are the sweetest!
* All dogs from Lionel’s Legacy are up to date on vaccinations and neutered.
Jak Jak’s human passed away and he’s been looking for a new home ever since. A Labrador mix, Jak Jak loves everyone and is a super awesome dog!
Puffy is a pure bred German Shepherd about 9-10 years old and as gentle can be.
Sally is a German Shepherd Labrador Retriever mix who was found wandering the desert by a good Samaritan.
Phoebe is a terrier mix who loves belly rubs and lives happily with her 2 foster brothers (doxies) and 2 cats.
I can’t believe that Misty is still looking for a forever home, with a smile like that she can light up the whole world!
Miriam is a pittie mix and just as sweet as can be!
Big Boy is a 7 year old Lab Staffy mix who loves to go for walks!
Beau is a cuddly poodle who loves to follow people around. He is 11 years old, great with kids, dogs and cats and is blind.
Macie is tiny, only 5 pounds and about 7 years old. She came from a family who could no longer take care of her.
If you don’t have room for one of these beautiful, loving dogs, please help share them via social media or consider donating to Lionel’s Legacy to help with medical costs, food and vet bills. Stay connected with Westway Studio on Facebook as well as Lionel’s Legacy.

Hi, Old Red is no longer available for adoption, but there are so many senior dogs available through local rescues, as well as Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, and Frosted Faces.
