After adopting Rio, the Border Collie mix, Mariana and Cory celebrated with a dog-friendly photo session with Samantha Mitchell Photography. Rio is 100% adorable, including his long eyebrow whiskers. Admittedly, I’m a sucker for dogs with interesting eyebrows, but who isn’t?
From Samantha: “Mariana and Cory recently adopted a new puppy, and of course, they needed some family photos to show off their new addition!“
From Mariana: “Cory (my husband) and I grew up with dogs and always wanted to adopt one, but never felt like it was the ‘right’ time. We would look at PetFinder here and there but never really pulled the trigger until we saw Rio (originally Frankie). I know this will sound cheesy, but it was love at first sight, and I just knew he was meant to be a part of our family. We applied for him, and two days later, we were picking him up after our meet and greet (thank God for Amazon Prime!).
We’ve only had him for a short time, but it has been the best time of our lives. We love him so much, and I’m so glad we found each other. He’s so smart and has the best personality. Rio is four months old and a Border Collie mix (based on the info we got from his rescue).
We adopted him from Far Fetched Dog Rescue. He didn’t have the best life before being rescued as he was found as a stray, beyond dehydrated and sick when he was only a few weeks old. He had to be in the hospital for a couple of weeks before going to his foster family, but now he is the happiest boy ever. “
If you are looking to add a dog to your family, please consider adopting one. Contrary to popular opinion, puppies and purebreds are available for adoption, but they may be harder to find.
