Although 2020 has been really rough so far, (to put it mildly), there is at least one silver lining. A lot of people adopted dogs or cats this spring. Krista from Impressions Photography had a dog-friendly session with a newly adopted pup and her humans. Athena is a Lab/German Shepherd mix puppy and utterly adorable!
From Krista: “Olivia and her boyfriend, Frank, adopted a new family member Athena, a German Shepherd mix and Lab puppy. Athena was just five months old and a ball of energy when I took these photos.
Both Olivia and Frank are students at Florida International University in Miami, Florida. They felt that with their classes being moved to online this semester and being in quarantine they would have a great opportunity to train Athena and give her the most attention. So far she has learned sit, paw, and lay down. It hasn’t taken her long to know exactly who her humans are too. She cried the minute dad left the yard and was elated by his return. She really is a sweet pup and the three make the most adorable family.” From Olivia: “At six months old Athena is 100% puppy. She has two settings, either she is completely zonked out and napping or she is in crazy mode! The quarantine here in Miami has actually worked out for us to really spend a lot of time with her and get all of that puppy energy out.
We go for runs every day and are fortunate to have a fenced backyard where she can play fetch for hours. She also LOVES water. As soon as she sees the sprinkler come on she knows it’s time to play. We have started getting our daily rainstorms here in Florida, so that means lots of puddles. Our biggest challenge is to keep her from running through every puddle she comes across! Car rides are another treat for her. We haven’t gone too far yet, but she is an excellent passenger when we do!
