Some of my favorite childhood memories include the dogs I grew up with. And while it is becoming more common to see senior portraits with dogs, I love these sessions from Toronto lifestyle dog photographer Terri J Photography, highlighting the bond between kids and their dogs. Of course, safety is always the number one priority. Always supervise young children and dogs while teaching your children to respect dogs and interact appropriately with them. 
From Terri: “Nothing beats the joy of having a best friend who loves you unconditionally, and few friendships can compare to the bond between a child and their dog. For children, the bond with their family dog is a special part of their lives. Dogs are their playmates, confidantes, protectors, adventure buddies, and just simply best friends.
Capturing photos of your kids with their dog offers priceless memories as you document your family life. The main goal of kids and dogs photography is not just to create beautiful memories but to capture the special interactions between the children and their dogs. 
First up is the sweetest kid, Brielle, with her Malinois, Dakota. I think that the love between them is beautiful to witness and so priceless! Brielle’s parents run a dog training business, so it is no wonder that this little one can handle her large dog so well. It’s amazing to see how well he listens to her!
Their session was on-location at a family farm in Ontario, and it was the perfect setting to showcase this little one with her beloved dog.
Then we have young Olivia with her new Bassett Hound puppy, Ladybird. Don’t you just love that name, Ladybird? Our photo session was at the family home. Ladybird was not quite 12 weeks old at the time of the session.
The bond between this little girl and her dog is just developing, to be sure, but already it is clear that this puppy will become one of Olivia’s best friends and companions! 
Please note that while the children in my photos are hugging and kissing their dogs, that’s because the dog is their family dog, they know each other well and live together. I will not encourage this type of interaction with an unfamiliar dog.”

I love kids and as well as dogs. Looking through the pictures is really mesmerizing and I so love how it was perfectly captured.
Nothing compares to a child and their dog. That bond is so strong and so beautiful. I have photos of my Boston Terrier laying and hugging my belly when I was pregnant with my son, he knew that was his baby before he was even born. He was at my son’s side like Velcro from the moment he came home from the hospital.
Kids and dogs can be such a wonderful combination. And the photos are stunning, as always.
