What better way to celebrate the newest family member than with a family portrait session? Natalie from Here Today Photography photographed this family, Portland, Oregon. Naturally, they included their first baby, Maki the Shiba Inu. I love that they chose an in-home session, and I’m obsessed with their lovely plants.
From Natalie: “Maki, the Shiba Inu, is a loving and protective big sister to a new baby, Lyra. Bethany and Enzo have been adjusting to life as new parents, and it’s a good thing that Maki has been training them for the past year!
From Bethany: “Maki is the most protective and loving big sister! She wakes up whenever Lyra wakes up in the middle of the night. She likes to make sure that she’s ok and can go back to sleep easily. It’s been a lot of fun having a new baby with a pup to help show her the ropes!”

How adorable! My sister recently had a baby as well and some of my favorite pictures of my new niece are the ones with her and her ‘big brother’, my sister’s chi/pom mix.
Oh the pup made me smile. What a lovely face and how lovely that it’s a huge part of the family unit.
The last photo had me if fits of giggles too. Sort of ‘Hey look at me I get to be the baby too’.
