I know that a lot of dogs (and their humans) have been missing their regular visits to the dog parks. While some areas are opening up, others are closing down to help stop the spread of COVID 19. Dog dad and professional photographer, Casey Fatchett, came up with a great plan to help keep his dog Shadow busy during these trying times. Shadow is a Border Collie mix adopted from Furever Home Dog Rescue.

From Casey: “Shadow loves to play and run, but how do you manage that during a pandemic? Resistance training!
Shadow, our rescue dog (Border Collie Mix), is extremely active, and we were worried she would get depressed without her daily trips to the dog park. Our back yard is fenced in but does not allow her space to really LET GO and run like she can in wide-open spaces. So, for the last three months, she takes to doing resistance training with her Jolly Ball to get in her exercise.
Now that it is getting hotter out, she likes to take a dip in her pool to cool off afterwards.
Shadow is my photo assistant, branch manager, and herder of wedding parties. Seriously, she is great at getting everyone together in one place. She’s also available for photoshoots if you want a really adorable, highly energetic dog that will smother you in kisses.”

At least this person knows that a border collie needs activity! I had a former boss who got one because she heard they were the smartest dogs. She kept it in a small fenced in yard and the dog did so much damage! She didn’t understand the need for constant exercise and activity.
