I understand loving a specific dog breed, but personally, I love the uniqueness of mixed breeds. Luckily, you can find both purebreds and mixed breeds up for adoption! Last summer, my sister, Alice G Patterson, Syracuse Brand Photographer from Loving My Company, donated a portrait session to a local rescue as a part of their fundraiser. Quito, the mixed breed, and his family were the lucky winners! Alice was over the moon about photographing him because, well, just look at him! Don’t you wish you could meet him in person?
From Mark: “Quito is a mixed breed (cattle dog, terrier, Lhasa apso, etc.)I saw him on an online adoption page from San Antonio, Texas, when he was just four months old. I worked with the agency to adopt him, and he was flown to us in June of 2016. He was six months old.
Quito is cuddly, energetic, and cautious.
We walk one to two times a day in our neighborhood and regularly visit the Jamesville Beach Dog Park. We play chase, fetch (well, I throw, and he chases it down but doesn’t return it)
My daughter loves when he sits, has his tongue out, and tilts his head.
My son loves how he greets us when we come home, weaving in and out of our legs. Quito follows me everywhere. He is very dedicated to our family.”

Quito does look like a cute little dog. I don’t care about them being a pure or mixed breed, it’s the personality that makes them great pets. These are such lovely photos.

I love this story!! I can’t emphasize enough the importance of choosing to adopt- and not only pups too. It would be nice to see more senior dog success stories! I digress; Quito is a lucky and beautiful boy and it’s a beautiful thing for this family to have given this rescue pup a chance!
