Many of my pet blogging friends will recognize the sweetie I’m featuring today, Layla, the most adorable mixed breed. Her DNA test showed that she is part Toy Poodle, Pekingese, Pomeranian, and Cocker Spaniel. She has her own blog Layla’s Woof, where she and her dog mom, Rochelle, blog about all things Layla, the importance of rescue, and speak out against domestic violence. If you aren’t familiar with their blog, you should check it out! Last summer Layla and Rochelle met up with one of my favorite photographers, misterdebs, at a San Francisco dog park.
From Debra: “I met up with Rochelle and her cute rescue senior pup, Layla, at a dog park in SF. Rochelle and I just let Layla do her own thing, and we captured some wonderful photos of her in her environment.”
It was love at first sight when Rochelle saw Layla’s photo online in January 2011. Layla had a rough life before she met Rochelle, but now she is cherished every day. The ten years that they’ve been together have been full of love.
Rochelle feeds Layla home-cooked meals and even makes sweet potato latkes for Layla! Before the pandemic, it seemed like they had an adventure every weekend! Although life has slowed down with COVID-19, they still keep busy.
Since Rochelle is a domestic abuse survivor and advocate, she often shares important information about that.
From Rochelle: “January is our month of freedom. I ran, Layla was rescued, and we are growing old together, happy, free, enjoying each day as it comes.”
Please check out this important information about Pet Safety & Domestic Violence. While I hope you aren’t in an abusive situation, it could potentially save lives.
