I am a huge fan of Charlotte Reeves Photography! She always manages to find amazing locations to photograph her subjects. Every time I see her photos I dream of visiting Australia to see the dog as well as the landscape. When I heard she was coming to the United States I was excited that she would give me more affordable places to daydream about. One of her first stops was San Francisco and I’m very happy to share Penny and Charlie with you.
From Charlotte: “Shooting in San Francisco was something I was really looking forward to on my holiday to the USA from my home country of Australia. I knew I wanted to shoot with the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in the background and luckily both of my San Francisco clients had the exact same picture in their heads! One client, Charlotte, had been following my own dogs and my pet photography for a number of years and jumped at the chance of meeting up and having my photograph her two precious pooches- Charlie and Penny. Both being rather energetic Labradoodles. Charlotte knew she wanted some action shots of the two pups racing around together and the best place for that was Crissy Field, right on the harbour side and in view of the Golden Gate bridge.
What I hadn’t realised is that summer is probably the worst time of year to visit the Bay Area! The notorious fog rolls in and blankets the bay and downtown area for much of the summer and although we managed to miss the heavy fog, we did get some rather dense cloud during our early morning session. Not to be put off, we went ahead and made the best of what nature had given us. I rather like how the muted tones match the colours of these two cuties.
Penny and Charlie were both beautifully behaved with a really solid stay command which allowed me to shoot some cool shots of them with the bridge and also Alcatraz in the back ground. I had a really fun time with Charlotte and her husband Peter and of course Charlie and Penny. What a fun session!”
