October is a busy month! In addition to Howl-O-Ween, Adopt A Shelter Dog Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it is also Pit Bull Awareness Month. Pit bulls may have a bad reputation, but the truth is, they are loving family members, just like any other breed. Thanks to Morgan from Heck Designs and Photography for these images of Ava and Hercules and their favorite person, Alex.
From Morgan: “Pit bulls are often misinterpreted as mean dogs, but Hercules and Ava are anything but! Alex and I wanted to show this with this session with her adorable pups!”
From Alex: “Ava Rae (3 1/2) is a rescue; I believe she was from the Humane Society in Toledo. However, I am not 100% certain because my ex-boyfriend surprised me with her as a Valentine’s Day present back in 2016. We acquired Hercules Micheal (2 1/2) from a friend who could not take care of him any longer so in my eyes he’s a rescue as well (and yes I gave my dogs middle names, and I have no shame about it.) My dogs are my babies. They sleep with me in my twin size bed every night and let me tell you it’s a tight squeeze. But thank god I am not a large human being.
They love going for walks and swimming in pools. Cuddling is their favorite as well as playing fetch with their bones. Ava is definitely more of a cuddler and a ‘lazy bones’, while Hercules being the younger of the two is more energetic with puppy tendencies still. I love every second with my babies. They are friendly to everyone and have large personalities. Every day with my dogs is an adventure. I highly recommended pit bulls to anyone I know who’s looking for a dog; you cannot deny their loyalty and love to their parents. I would do anything for my dogs they have become my world over the past two years. I don’t know what I would do without them.”

Awww! Those doggies are so cute! My friend has a pit bull and he is the sweetest and biggest baby.
Hercules and Ava are ADORABLE! Very kissable and boopable noses, too. I fostered a Pit Bull pup named Bacon. He was about 9 months when I got him, and a ball of energy but the most loving, affectionate foster that I have ever had. A single woman adopted him, but I later found out that she moved to a mountain state, got married and had two children that Bacon clearly adores, based on pictures.
BRB off to look at pit bull rescues….
Thanks for fostering and sharing the good news about Bacon!
Gorgeous Dogs!! I am a firm believer that bad dogs aren’t born they are made. It’s the way you treat a dog that defines it’s character and your dogs seem happy and loving. So glad to see pictures like this. Thanks for sharing 🙂
What a pair of sweeties. Unfortunately, we really need t start considering smaller for any future dogs.
They both look so sweet and lovable! I have had the pleasure of knowing several wonderful pit bulls that my friends have owned – all of them are big sweethearts!
Aw! Your pups are such sweeties! I love that you gave them middle names 🙂 I love my rescue dog, too — I’d be lost w/out her!
Okay, adorable!!!!! I’m actually doing a photo shoot with my dog this weekend, and I cannot wait. You will always treasure these photos!!
Awwww so cute 😀
What camera are you using?
You make me want to get a pair of pittbulls 😀
Oh gosh, these pictures make me GRIN so big! What beautiful, lovable dogs. Thanks for showcasing them.
Very cute puppies! I agree they get a bad reputation… I was a little nervous to find out that my recent rescue pup was part AmStaff, but I quickly got over it and realized he’s just a sweet cuddler and not defined by his breed. Love them!
Beautiful pics! They are such sweethearts! What a lovely family.
These are great PR for pit bulls. I confess they do look fearsome dogs but such a loving mum shows how great they are!
Great photos! I’m learning a lot more about the bully breeds by watching Pitbulls and Parolees on TV.
