When Torie and her fiance had their engagement portraits with Kayce Stork Photography, they opted to include Kalu, their Shepherd/Husky mix in some of the photos. They met Kalu almost three years earlier. Kalu was just a pup, she was malnourished and lost. Whether it was fate, coincidence, or divine intervention, Kalu’s life changed for the better that day!
From Kayce: “I photographed this couple’s engagement session with the sweetest 3-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix. Kalu was rescued by her dad. I believe she was in the middle of the street and when he spotted her, he did his best to get to her quickly.
From Torie: “We love our girl beyond words, she’s been one of our biggest blessings.
We have had her for a little over three years now. My fiancé found her as a puppy (the vet stated she was around 3-4 months old) running around on the road. Her vet classified her a Shepherd/Husky mix when we found her as a baby, and she shows features and a personality of both breeds. She was severely malnourished. There’s no telling how long she’d been out on her own. My fiancé called me while I was at work, stating he found her but wasn’t able to stay with her due to an appointment he couldn’t miss. So, I left work to go pick her up from him.
Well, I fell in love as soon as I saw her. She had ears bigger than her entire body and wanted all the love and attention in the world. We checked to see if she was microchipped, checked local shelters, and put her picture on several social media platforms to see if anyone knew where she came from. Everything came back negative/with no response. We took that as fate and decided to give her the life she deserved. Since then, she has been attached to both mine and her Daddy’s side.
We both have a bond that is so special. She wants to please us 100% of the time and loves to be loved by us. She can be very sassy because she knows we love her, and she can get her way almost all the time. It is well deserved.
One of her favorite things to do is play hide and seek. We hide, she seeks, and she’s pretty darn good at it! She also loves going for runs and walks with my fiancé and me, and enjoys doing the tricks she learned in obedience school. We love her goofy yet, respectful personality. Her ears are still as big as the day we found her (her body just now matches them.)”
