Eagle, the Golden Retriever, celebrated his first birthday with a cake smash and photo session with Alexa Nahas Photography. As you’ll see, Eagle is super happy and handsome. Additionally, he’s making the world a happier place through his Instagram account and is training to be a therapy dog.
From Alexa: “Eagle turned one this past February so his family decided to do a traditional cake smash. We got a peanut butter cake from the Pet-Friendly Dog Bakery in Manayunk and did a little decorating for the backdrop. Eagle loved his cake and licked every last piece off the floor. I loved his ice cream bandana from Willow Wear.”
From Caroline: “Eagle is named after the golf term because his Dad works in the golf business. But being born in February 2018, following The Philadelphia Eagles Superbowl victory, he had no choice but to be an Eagles fan!
We welcomed Eagle home in April 2018 and has brought us immense joy and laughter ever since.
Eagle’s calm demeanor and laid-back personality (and his good looks) attract much attention around their Philadelphia residence. Eagle loves walks in the city to some of the most popular spots, like The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Rocky Statue, and Love Park. Most mornings and evenings you can find Eagle in the dog park running and wrestling with his best pals.
He is a true retriever and enjoys bringing his humans gifts from around the house, like the bath mat and kitchen rug. Eagle does not rip or chew them but just wants to proudly show off. (And maybe play a little game of keep-away!)
Eagle and his humans have plans to continue their training with Philly Unleashed, so he can become a Certified Therapy Dog and join his mom, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, try to help make the world a better place.
You can follow along with Eagle’s antics and adventures on Instagram!”

Our pup was found on a street as a puppy, and we ending up adopting her from a rescue. So we have absolutely no clue when her birthday is. My kids insist that we need to give her a birthday so we can celebrate. They are going to absolutely adore recreating your pawty! It’s so cute!

Eagle is beautiful and what a fun party to celebrate his first birthday! I have to say, a cake smash for a dog’s birthday is perfect! Love ll these shots, especially the ones of Eagle licking the air after tasting his cake! I love that he will be a Therapy Dog, too! I’ve actually just did a story on Therapy Dogs, and Goldens make wonderful ones. My daughter plans on getting a Golden and going the Therapy Dog route one day when her babies are little older. Beautiful dogs. Great photoshooot! Happy Birthday, Eagle!
