Living in the northeast, I’m partial to snow for the holidays. However, Chihuahua mix, Rosé, and her English Bulldog sidekick, Wayne, joined their humans for a holiday portrait session with Ali Tso Photography. Although there isn’t any snow, there is plenty of cheer!
From Ali: “These newlyweds had a unique take on their family Christmas photos!”
From Amber: “I adopted Rosé when she was 4 months old from the Arizona Humane Society. Vets believe her to be part Chihuahua, part Miniature Pinscher, which is sometimes referred to as a “Chipin.” Rosé is just under 5lbs and is almost 8 years old.
Rosé is named after wine/champagne as her momma is a huge fan.
Wayne will be three years old in December and weighs in at a solid 55lbs
Wayne is named after Bruce Wayne (Batman!) because his dad is a HUGE Batman fan!
Our two babies couldn’t be more opposite if they tried.
I adopted Rosé when I was single, and she was my ride or die. I took her everywhere with me. She’s been wine tasting in Napa, to Manhattan at Christmas time, and everywhere in between. I joke she’s likely accumulated more frequent flyer miles than most humans! She’s as prissy as the champagne she’s named after and is extraordinarily well behaved. Her calm, content nature has allowed me to travel with her via road trips, planes while staying in hotels, with friends, etc.
My husband has had a lifelong obsession with English Bulldogs. A year into our dating, we decided it was time to add one to the family. Kyle, my now-husband, did extensive research on quality Bulldog breeders. From the first second Kyle held Wayne in his arms, Wayne was obsessed with him. To this day, Wayne looks at Kyle differently and more lovingly than anyone else on earth. Bulldogs are as stubborn as their names imply, and Wayne sure did test our patience for the first year or so, but his cute rolls always made us forget any training resistance. He quickly grew into the size and personality of a true bully.
Wayne is now the calmest, loving, cuddly dog you could ever ask for. He has a human-like personality, hilarious facial expressions, and is the most intelligent dog I have ever been around. Wayne knows each one of his toys by name! He snores more than an old man and naps often. Lately, he’s been requesting a bully sibling, and mom and dad are seriously considering it!
Rosé avoided Wayne like the plague for the first couple of years. She was frustrated and annoyed that her prissy self was no longer the only child. All Wayne wanted to do was play with her, and she was NOT having it. Within the last year (miraculously!), they have truly grown to love each other’s company. We only have one dog bed because they actually enjoy napping in it cuddled up together. They eat, play, walk, and sleep together, and they’ve become the cutest, most unlikely dog duo you can imagine!
