Big Muddy Valley may not sound like the most picturesque place, but at least for part of the year, it is! It was the perfect setting for a dog-friendly engagement session. Thanks to Jackie Hall Photography for these photos of Lucy, the Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix and her favorite humans, Angelia and Travis.
From Jackie: “Angelia and Travis are adventurous, outgoing, and love their equally as adventurous companion Lucy! Their engagement session takes place in the Big Muddy Valley where they hiked up the valley hills, walked through the wild sage and cacti, and played fetch with Lucy. She has so much personality and was so much fun to photograph!”
From Angelia: “Our Lucy is a 3-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. We lucked out big time finding this beautiful girl on a Kijiji ad when she was a pup. Lucy is as sweet as she is smart. Although she is a quiet and timid lady, she never has a problem showing us what she wants. Since Lucy doesn’t bark, she rests her head on the coffee table, couch, or your knee to let you know she needs attention.
Lucy absolutely adores people and other animals. Although Lucy loves everyone, she especially loves her older brother, Max the cat. However, she is always busy keeping him in line. Lucy once saved his life by alerting us when he escaped our front door and was near a busy street. She will whine or bop him with her paw if he is doing anything he shouldn’t be.
She is a BIG tattle-tail. We are also quite sure she knows English and how to spell (W-A-L-K, B-I-K-E, D-O-G, Etc.) Lucy is the light of our life, our daughter, our best friend. She is the perfect companion, and we would be lost without her. We love you, Lucy.”

These are absolutely stunning photos! The location, Big Muddy Valley, makes for such a wonderful backdrop! My daughter’s best friend had a border collie that was her furry best friend and was in her wedding for which I was the photographer. It, too, was an outdoor wedding at an overlook (beautiful natural setting) and her dog, Sage, was in the wedding party and also wore a crown of flowers, which reminds me of the photos of Lucy! Congrats to the lucky couple!

You must have enjoyed photographing Sage and the rest of the wedding!
