I’ll never forget the first party I hosted. I had worked hard to get everything just right. One of my “friends” walked in, ignored the fresh cut flowers on my table, as well as the delicious food, and announced that my house smelled like dogs. Even though she is infamous for being rude, her words made my cheeks flush with embarrassment and anger. Although it pains me to admit it, she was probably right. Ever since then, I’ve tried harder to keep my house clean and fresh while still treating my dogs like family. Thanks to my sister, Alice G Patterson Photography, for the photos!
This post is sponsored by Wear Wag Repeat, however, at Daily Dog Tag, we only share products that we love and trust.Since many air fresheners and candles are toxic to pets, I’ve been leery of using them around my dogs. The last thing I want to do is make my dogs sick!
Soy candles from Wear Wag Repeat are a great and safe way to make my house smell better. I love them for so many reasons! Hand-made in Colorado by a dog mom, all of these candles smell great, burn cleanly, and are eco-friendly.
Who could resist a candle named Puppy Breath? In addition to having an irresistible name, Puppy Breath also neutralizes odors, which makes it the perfect candle to light when you have wet dogs or rude friends.
Candle Features:
- 8 oz. of Soy Wax
- Hand-poured in the USA
- Scented with Pure Essential Oils
- 100% Cotton Wick
- Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Manufacturing
- Made by a Dog Mom
Each order also comes with these awesome wooden matches. They are extra long, so you don’t have to worry about burning your fingers when you light the wick.
There are three great scents available: Puppy Breath (a delightful combination of lemongrass, rosemary, and peppermint), Zoomies (tall grass), and Wet Noses (spiced cider.) All of them have a fresh fragrance that is pleasant, but not overpowering, and perfect for just about anyone, even someone who doesn’t have dogs.
Almost two years ago, I met Tori, the founder of Wear Wag Repeat, and her Lab, Lucy, at a pet blogging conference. Tori is a proud dog mom with an infectious smile and a great sense of style. When I found out she was opening up a shop for dog lovers, I knew I would love the products. Like so many of us, Tori is obsessed with dogs and knows that they are family. Check out some of her other selections! Wear Wag Repeat Shop supports local rescues through donations and fundraising.
As a reminder, please use common sense whenever you have lit candles. Make sure they are out of your pet’s reach and never leave a burning candle unattended. (Teach your dogs not to play with matches!)
Although my house has gone to the dogs, it doesn’t smell like it anymore!
If you aren’t already following Tori and her dogs, Lucy and Burt on Instagram, you should!

I always have a candle burning in my house. so I think these are great. I would love to smell one.
That spiced cider candle will be perfect for Fall! I love that these are hand-poured in the U.S.A. I also like that soybean candles support farmers and are clean burning. I love her packaging!
Oo these are fun candles! I might have to pick up a few for my dog loving friends. They’ll get a kick out of them.
These candles look so awesome. I totally am going to need to check them out. I love a great candle for sure.
Candles are a HUGE weakness of mine. I cannot stop buying them. I just cannot go into that section at Marshall’s! LOL!
Beth, I appreciate you sharing this! My dog does smell like “dog” and I’m always looking for ways to cover up the scent! Love that these candles are made from a dog mom 🙂
Oh my goodness, puppy breath?! How cute are these candles?!
Oh my gosh I love these candles. I need the Zoomies one in my life as soon as possible.
THIS IS AMAZING. As a fellow dog mom, and god lover…I know 50 people EASILY who would LOVE these products. The love we have for our dogs is unreal, but we can always relate! Thank you so much for sharing these awesome products.
I have not heard of this candle company, but their scents sound awesome. I love that they are safe for pets. I will have to buy a few for my sister.
This is such a cute candle concept! If only I wasn’t allergic to soy! Burning soy candles can be such a struggle for me because then I feel so icky haha. But they’d make for an awesome gift for a friend!
These have the cutest names! And I love the scent combinations. I don’t burn a bunch of candles with having small children, but my sister would be obsessed with these!
What a cute gift idea for pet lovers. Air fresheners are a must in our home to ward off some of the doggy scents
What incredibly great names for scented candles.
I didn’t know that there were so many toxins in other air fresheners! I will have to start checking those ingredients.
This is a great idea! As great as dogs are, they do sometimes have that smell.
Those look like some great candles. I love the names of them too! They’re awesome! I’d love to get a few of these for my home.
I love candles. I love the atmosphere they make! I should try these!
What a great idea that these candles are safe for the environment and for pets! I stopped burning candles years ago because of concerns about health, and it is nice to know there are some out there like this.
These candles sound awesome! I’m going to have to check them out for sure! Thanks for sharing.
I need to check it out these candles, I haven’ t one with herb scent rosemary is my favorite.
You had me at Puppy Breath. I mean does it get any better than Puppy Breath? I think not. I am going to have to order this candle STAT! So cute!
I never even thought about candles being toxic to pets. We don’t typically burn candles, but I will look into these for when we do need candles.
I didn’t realize candles could be toxic to pets! This is a great gift idea for my candle-loving friends who also have pets.
How cool! I’ve never heard of this company before. I’ll have to save this post for after we move. I love burning candles, and work hard to keep my house smelling nice even though it’s full of animals. I found a nice brand of soy candles that I’ve been using, but how adorable are the dog themed names!
I love the name of this candle. I do not burn candles as my tiny studio has no safe place for them plus I cannot allergy wise deal with the scents but as a gift for some dog lover it would be awesome.
Wow, that “friend” who told you your house smelled like dogs doesn’t sound like a very nice friend. I know my house smells like dogs, that is why I just don’t have anyone over! haha.. anyway, these candles sound really nice. I like that they are safe around animals. The scents do sound lovely. Thanks for sharing.
That spice cider sounds awesome. But I can’t use candles, too many cat tails make them too risky. If I could I would definitely try these, clean burning and soy based sound wonderful.
These would be a conversation piece. Also, a great gift idea for friends with dogs; those are mostly the type of person I associate with – not anyone who would comment about my house smelling like dogs (WOW). I love the scent names of the candles – fun!
I used to burn candles all the time with my previous Persian cat, Praline. She wasn’t a jumper and I always felt safe burning candles with her around. However, Truffle and Brulee are a little more mischievous and jump all over the place. I just don’t feel comfortable with burning candles around them.
Aww, I love this idea. Such a cute product. I’d buy one of these.
We use candles when we are home. Good ones like this are better than the cheap ones where (apparently) they only soak the wick in fragrance not the wax itself which means the candle doesn’t work at all!
Noe of our cats jump on the coffee table where we place candles, they just don’t jump there as they have so much cat furniture (yeah spoiled!!!)
Oh, I am sold! My daughter loves candles, too. I will be checking these out. Thanks for the great review. I have not used candles in my house since having an epileptic dog (candles and fragrances can be triggers). I also have had a rude person say that my house smells like wet dog even when they aren’t wet and Huskies typically do not smell! They just knew coming in I had five dogs at the time. Grrrr. Most people who cross my threshold are shocked to find out I have dogs because they don’t smell them. But I am going to get me some of these candles! We are going to be putting our house on the market later this year to relocate, and this will be perfect, just in case! Pinning to share!
We get so used to our dogs that we don’t realize when they smell or the odors left in our house. The candles are a great idea for when company comes to visit!
I have steered away from candles lately in favor of essential oil diffusers because I just couldn’t find any that I trusted and weren’t loaded with tons of synthetic chemicals. I definitely miss the ambiance of a lit candle though, especially with fall weather approaching, so I will check these out!
I love the name Puppy Breath for a candle. It would probably make a really nice gift for a new puppy owner! Is it weird that I wish she had a Puppy Feet one though too? It could me corn chip scented.
These sound incredible! Sometimes, regardless of how much cleaning we do, you just can’t get all the pet smell out of the house. I know that we were SUPER excited to find a local company that does soy candles and wax melts, and that led me into exploring the world of soy candles. That being said, this brand is new to me and I’m TOTALLY intrigued!
