One of my favorite blogs is that of Britt Croft Photography. Her photography and her personality make a beautiful combination. I might have squealed a little when I saw she sent me some very special photos: a 52 week project of her dogs, Riley and Lexi.
From Britt: “This personal project was a big undertaking for me this year, but since my dogs are such a big part of my photography business, I knew it would be a fun way for people to see inside their lives. I used to photograph my dogs all the time, but I’d end up slowing down when I got busy with work, or I’d find myself not getting creative. At the beginning of the year, I made it one of my goals to undertake this 52 Weeks project, where I’d take a unique photograph of each of my yellow labs (Riley, the bigger male, and Lexi, the smaller female) once a week. It’s turned into something really neat and I’ve had such a good time finding new places to work in and getting more creative with my composition. I’ve attached some of my favorite images thus far in the year. At the end of the year, I hope to compile all of the images into a coffee table book.”

I am afraid that I will stop taking photos of my dogs too if I go pro. It’s a bummer that it looks like that would be the case but think it is really cool that she made a point of “getting back to basics”. Every aspiring pet photographer always starts with their own dogs 🙂
