I first fell in love with the red rocks of Utah during my visit to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Snow Canyon State Park is the perfect location for a dog-friendly photoshoot with Alexis from AW Creates. Kershaw, the red merle Australian Shepherd, is quite the handsome pup, with icy blue eyes!
From Alexis: “This is a photoshoot I did with my cute couple, Katie, Justin, and their doggo Kershaw, at Snow Canyon National Park! They got Kershaw when he was just a little pup, and he’s grown to be the most adventurous, fun-loving puppy!
You can most likely find this family hiking the beautiful trails in Southern Utah or going on boat rides where Kershaw wears the coolest goggles you’ve ever seen on a doggo. Kershaw is a Red Merle Australian Shepherd.
We had so much fun hiking the trails and seeing Kershaw’s neat tricks!

Lovely photos. I love how well everything pops against the red background of the park. Parks look quite different where we live – much greener! I really loved seeing something different from the local nature pictures I’m used too. Oh, and Kershaw is adorable, of course!
These are beautiful photos of Kershaw and his family at Snow Canyon State Park. I’m so impressed with the colors. My brother lives next to Red Rock in Las Vegas. The colors of Red Rock are very similar to Snow Canyon State Park. I have yet to be able to capture the brilliance of the rocks on film.
Kershaw is a ham and a perfect subject to photo. I can’t imagine there’s a bad picture of him. Adorable family!

What a stunning backdrop for these beautiful photos! I really love it – we lived in Arizona for over 9 years and spent lots of time in Sedona’s red rock region. These photos remind me of Sedona. I was so bummed that we never made it to Utah, even thought it’s right next door! I wanted to visit their beautiful national parks. I’d love to take a trip to Best Friends as well some day.
