Everyone knows that I love engagement sessions that include the dogs, but I realized there’s something that I love EVEN more…family portrait sessions with the dog. Why? Well being engaged is something that is amazing and short lived, and its important to document this special time. Family sessions are something that are easy to put off til the weather changes, next year, after the babies, etc. and before you know it, you have gone years without an updated family portrait. (Trust me, I know what I am talking about!) I was thrilled when I realized what I thought was a beautiful engagement session is a gorgeous family portrait (complete with Vizsla, Rowdy) sent it by Jen Madigan Photography.
From Andrea: “When we went to pick him out, there were only 2 or 3 pups left, just 8 weeks old. Rowdy came over and started chewing on Jake’s boot. We decided he was the one for us. He is almost 3 years old now. We had decided on the name Rowdy, and thought oh, wouldn’t it be funny if he actually turns out to be? Well, he did! He LOVES people and is definitely an excitable dog! His tail is constantly wagging and often his whole bum is going back and forth. He’s a true velcro Vizsla, always nearby. He’s a leaner (leaning against us or others). We can even take him for walks without a leash, he’s never run off. He loves truck rides and runs to the door if we mention it. He loves bounding through tall grass, although he’s never become much of a hunter. There just aren’t many pheasants anymore! He’s also a 50 lb lap dog, he’ll sit on you and snuggle if you let him. He wins over everyone he’s ever met: dog lovers or not. He’s our goofy, handsome boy. And definitely spoiled!”

Like I always say- never met a Vizsla that I didn’t like. Rowdy is super adorable, love his stylish collar, and these family portraits are super sweet!

I wish my dog didn’t have crazy ADD so I could get some good portrait sessions with him! Rowdy is so sweet. Nice work Jen 🙂

What beautiful photos, I especially like the one of them all facing the water. Lately I’ve been obsessed with photos of people/animals looking at something.
