Sometimes I daydream about a vacation where I can meet the dogs that I feature on the Daily Dog Tag. Australia figures predominantly in this dream vacation, but now I have to add a whole new continent: South America. Patricio Menis lives in Santiago, Chile. He sent me these photos of his dog, Kota. Kota was adopted by Patricio when she was 6 months old.
From Patricio: “I love all dogs, big ones, small ones, every dog, but the first time I saw Kota (first known as Dakota) I felt THAT connection that every doglover always look for. That honest and natural look of the perfect dog, for me. As a pet photographer I have a visual communication with each dog , aiming into their eyes, and that tells me a lot of their behavior. Kota talks with her eyes, and talks a lot. The soul transferred to a picture is the most difficult to get, and that’s what I aim in my pictures, put some of it on each image. ”
