Miles, the Black Lab, joined his humans, Mary and Matt, for their engagement session with Jess Sinatra Photography in Boston, Massachusetts.
My fiancé, Matt, and I met 6.5 years ago in South Bend, Indiana’s finest establishment–the Linebacker Lounge. Our relationship is fun, goofy, and has been a source of nonstop laughter since 2014.
From Mary: “We have a 1.5-year-old black lab, Miles, who is the derpiest and most lovable chunk you’ve ever met. We were long-distance for a few years and made Boston our home about two years ago. Zero regrets! Matt proposed on Martha’s Vineyard over LDW, and boy, did he catch me by surprise. Well done! We are huge Notre Dame fans (where we met), love our dog to pieces, and try and bring out the best in each other.
We were supposed to see three different litters the day we met Miles. Matt told me that I shouldn’t feel like we needed to leave with a dog when we got to the first stop. We walked in and saw a chunky pup with this droopy face and enormously large tongue. The rest was history.
Miles is our love bug. We’ve only had him for a little over a year, so most of our time together has been during the pandemic. We worried about separation anxiety and socialization, but Miles loves everyone. Literally everyone. Squirrels? Check. Other people? Check. Kids? CHECK. 
Dogs that clearly have no interest and don’t want to play? Check, check. He has to lay next to either of us at all times, and if I’m sitting close to Matt, Miles wedges himself between us and puts a paw on each parent.
He never grew into his tongue or his body, so Miles has these comically short legs and a tongue that just doesn’t seem to fit into his mouth.
He’s a simple dude who loves hikes, rawhides, and stealing our spot on the couch. We love every inch of our goofy chonk and remind ourselves every day that we literally don’t deserve dogs.”
