Sweet Momma is looking for a forever home. She and two canine siblings were thoughtlessly abandoned in a house without food or water last summer. With help from a passerby, the SPCA of Luzerne County and Jessica Cobb Pet Photography she’s ready to find her new family!
From Jessica: “Since last year, we have started doing a special photo shoot for dogs that have been at the shelter for awhile, usually over 8 months or so. These shoots are done off-site of the shelter and at a location just like I would with a client’s dog in order to showcase more of the dog’s personality and character. This allows people to get a better idea of how this dog might fit in their family. We have done 4 so far, including this girl and the previous three dogs all got adopted shortly after their highlight session which is awesome. We still haven’t gotten much interest in Momma, so it’d be great if we could get some more attention for her.
Momma was brought in to the SPCA of Luzerne County with her two brothers after a passerby on the street saw a dog trying to jump out of the 2nd story window. Apparently the dogs had been left abandoned in the house in the middle of June without food and were drinking what little water was left out of the toilet. All three were very thin and dehydrated when they were rescued. Momma’s two siblings got adopted out last year, but she is still waiting at the shelter. She is a female pit bull mix approximately 3 yrs old. She does well with other dogs on a case by case basis, so anyone who is interested in adopting her would be asked to bring their dog for a meet and greet to see if they get along. She is a very friendly, sweet and calm dog. She isn’t hyper or jumpy like alot of pups, especially in the shelter environment. She did great for her photo shoot and really would make someone a very nice pet.
It would be awesome if you could share her as she has been at the shelter since June 2013 and she desperately needs a home. “

As a volunteer at this shelter I have spent a ton of time with momma. She truly loves humans even though she’s had a rough past. She is very smart and calm. She’s always sitting calm in her kennel waiting for a friend. She’s a cool pup. She’s gives hugs too. I always enjoy taking her for a walk. Def a family dog. She would be a very loyal dog.
