Although any day is a great day to adopt a new best friend, October is Adopt A Shelter Dog Month. These dogs are up for adoption at the Humane Society of Monroe County. Thanks to Dani Nicole Photography for helping these dogs find homes. If you aren’t ready to adopt, please share or donate to help get these dogs home!
The Humane Society of Union County is not an animal shelter. Instead, they look for foster and permanent homes for pets.
From the Humane Society of Union County: “It is our policy to provide humane care and treatment for animals needing protection in Union County; to seek to return lost pets to their owners and to find suitable homes for animals without owners.
Max is an adorable and friendly Lab mix (possible Boxer mix).
He is between one and two years old and is a big boy at 57 lbs. Max enjoys playing with other dogs and gets along with all people. He loves his toys and makes silly faces (he has an adorable under-bite)!!! Max is doing excellent in training and would love another dog his size to play with a fenced in backyard. Max is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered.
Rocky is looking for love, companionship, and a warm lap to curl up on. He is an eight-year-old handsome Chihuahua mix and weighs 10 pounds. Rocky has a very sweet personality but is best suited for a single individual since he has a hard time sharing his affection. Cats are fine, but this tough guy wants to be the only dog in your world. Rocky loves to ride in cars and visit stores where allowed. Rocky is house trained and only takes up a little room on your bed at night. If you’re ready for a new love bug, please fill out an adoption application.
Oh, how sweet our Bay is! She is a middle-aged, mellow, lab mix. This dog is what I call an insta pet. She is fixed, housetrained, and loves people as well as other dogs. She is an absolute love and deserves an inside home for the rest of her life. Please give this girl a chance.
Meet handsome Brutus! He is a very lovable Terrier mix about one-year-old. Brutus is has a great personality and is quite the character! Brutus will keep you entertained and laughing. His underbite is so cute. Brutus loves to run and carry his toys and bury his toys! He has a lot of energy being so young and would love a playmate that can keep up with him. Brutus is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Please fill out an adoption application for Brutus.
Because adopting Theo has been such a great experience, I think I’ll only adopt older dogs from now on.
However, if you are more of a puppy person, the Humane Society of Union County has those too!
Puppies are usually adopted quickly!

My motto in life is adoptdontshop, they are so adorable and I keep saying to myself when I win the lottery will be able to adopt some brothers and sisters for Layla. Seniors are so precious and LOL you don’t have to worry about them chewing your shoes 🙂

Almost all the dogs in my life joined our family as puppies, but now that I know how awesome adult rescue dogs are, I doubt I’ll get a puppy again!

Look at all these adorable faces. I wish I owned a farm because I’d scoop up all these pups. I’m unable to adopt a dog however will definitely share this post to spread the word. Love all the pics.

I think I’m a nice person for a dog because I never had a dog before and I would want to have and take care of a dog and I am only
Nine years old
