Today, June 11th is Just One Day. On any normal day thousands of animals in shelters might be euthanized due in large part to a lack of space in the shelter. But today, some of those shelters have pledged to be a No Kill Shelter, even if it is for just one day, which can make the difference between life and death for some adoptable pets. If you are considering adopting or fostering a new pet, please go to your local shelter today! Many shelters are waiving or discounting adoption fees in an attempt to save more pets.
Today’s adoptable dog is an adorable Pit bull named Duncan who was photographed (with his foster family) by Jess from Chocolate Moose Images. Duncan was pulled from animal control by Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue. If it weren’t for the Rescue, Duncan might have been slated for the euthanasia list.
From Jess: “Duncan and he is pretty amazing. He is just over 1 year old and so well behaved it’s incredible. His foster family includes 3 young children and another pittie so he clearly gets along well with a variety of folks. He knows a lot of commands and LOVES treats.”
From Duncan: “Hi!! My name is Duncan. I know what you’re thinking – I look like a Duncan. I get that a lot! I also hear people say how cute my nose is. I am a little over a year old and quite the gentleman. I LOVE kids, playing tug of war, walking, cuddling and playing with my foster sister. She is great!! I have a whole bag of tricks that I’d love to show you if you have the right treat. If I was to describe myself as a color I would have to say yellow because I’m always so happy!”
I love that Duncan is being fostered by a whole family! You can see what a great dog he is in these photos. Big cheers to Duncan’s foster parents for not only helping Duncan, but for raising three great animal advocates!
You can read more about Duncan on his Petfinder listing. Duncan is currently available through the Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue or e-mail adopt@mnpitbull.com. As a general rule, the organization only adopts within Minnesota, however if someone is interested they can certainly email to inquire if an exception can be made.

Duncan is super cute, especially that awesome spotted nose and his very pretty eyes!
He sure looks happy with his foster family. I wish him the very best in finding a furever family, but I know he’ll miss his foster pack. I hope the children understand what fostering means – they may not want to say goodbye to that sweet boy!
