I think that you can tell a lot about people by their engagement photos. Kayla and John decided to include their dogs, Ratatat and Willie, in their engagement photos with Photography by Cambrae in St Paul, Oregon. Not only did they bring the dogs, but they worked in a bit of playtime for them!
From Cambrae: “A big thing I have in common with Kayla and John is our love of dogs. But of course, the dogs that steal their hearts are their dogs, Ratatat and Willie. So, of course, they had to bring them along to be a part of things. In my opinion, they are just adorable!
They met at Bushwackers when John was on break from the academy. John can’t dance, so his friends danced with Kayla all night. John thought he couldn’t compete, so he was busy enjoying his chicken tenders when Kayla asked to snag a fry. Of course, he shared. That led to some exchanges on Snap Chat and then the first date at McMenamins West Linn Pub.
John’s proposal was a bit out of the blue, but he said it just felt right. They were at his buddy’s farm just before they bought their own home. Kayla recalled saying yes because she loves the person John makes her. They have been through a lot together, and he still brings out the happy in her.
From Kayla and John: “Ratatat is a very loving 14-year-old wire-haired terrier chihuahua mix. He was rescued eight years ago by Kayla from the Oregon Humane Society. He enjoys snuggles, sunbathing, his stuffed elephant, and frolicking through freshly cut grass after dad finishes mowing the lawn.
Willie is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd Border Collie mix. He was rescued through HeRD of Wyoming three years ago out of Colorado after he suffered a broken leg by being kicked by either a cow or horse. He enjoys all squeaky toys, balls, but most of all, his Frisbee.
Willie loves his humans with all of his heart and will not leave their side if they are walking around. He gives lots of kisses and snuggles. He also taught Ratatat how to herd when playing fetch.”

They have a sweet love story. I love their furbabies too. It is cool that they included the pups in their family photos. My dogs and cat wouldn’t sit still long enough to do this for me.
