A dog-friendly beach is one of my favorite places to be. The next best thing to being there in person is to see someone else’s photos. Virginia wedding photographer, Arli Quinn, and her family enjoyed a dog-friendly beach vacation in Corolla, North Carolina earlier this year. I imagine that all of them, including Bain, the Bullmastiff, and Tippon, the Silver Lab, loved every moment of it!
From Arli: “My family takes a vacation every year to North Carolina, and this year we had some new fur baby additions!
Bain is my ‘nephew.’ He belongs to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. He is a two-year-old Bullmastiff that they picked up as a puppy from a family friend in Virginia Beach, Virginia. When choosing their puppy, they knew he was the one because he was always cuddled up to his mom. His nickname was Wedge because he would literally wedge himself anywhere, which is still true to this day.
His full name is Bainjamin Wedgenald. He is very welcoming. Bain loves sticks, tennis balls, and to lay outside in fresh-cut grass on his back. Drool is his accessory. He thinks he is a 20-pound lap dog. His fav thing to do is car rides with windows down and wind in his cheeks.
Tippon is a Silver Lab. He turned two on Aug 30. After a loss of our dog Sophie (Jack Russell), our hearts were broken, and it didn’t seem that we would ever fall in love with another dog again. Almost a year after losing Sophie, we longed for a four-legged family member again and started to research. I found Tippon unexpectedly and close to where we live, which was really unexpected! They happened to have a puppy left due to their human daughter expecting and going into labor, so they didn’t have time to show him or advertise.
It was love at first sight when I got to meet him. He was goofy, and I knew that would fit right in. I surprised our boys (eight and nine), Mason and Weston, with him. They couldn’t believe I had a puppy and asked me if we got to keep it or whose he was.
When it processed that he was their doggy, the squeals and excitement were overload. Tippon loves to play, he loves the water, and doesn’t like to share things that he gets ahold of that he’s not supposed to have. He is a momma’s boy for sure and a snuggler. He’s very smart and picks up super quick on things. Tippon loves to go on walks and car rides. He loved the beach the instant he saw the ocean! We live in a lake community, so the waves were fun for him to jump in and bury his face.”

What some fun family photos – there is nothing quite like spending some time at the beach is there? My Sal used to love running in and out the sea and barking at waves.

My daughter has a boxer mix and she enjoyed going to the lake to swim. I bet she would enjoy playing in the ocean too. Maybe next summer we can take her down to the beach for a weekend getaway.

These are so much fun. I love the idea of taking photos somewhere that you enjoy spending time together as a family. In fact, last year we had a photo shoot at a local dog beach that we love. Not only did we get some amazing photos out of it, but the dogs had a GREAT time in the process lol
