Briland, the Miniature Pinscher, lives the good life in Harbour Island, Bahamas. His favorite person and personal photographer, Paola Wells, took these photos last January. Luckily, Hurricane Dorian did not devastate Harbour Island. And the Harbour Island community is welcoming evacuees from areas that were so tragically affected by the hurricane. Paola has been helping take photos for IDEA Relief, a nonprofit organization that supported the evacuees just days after the storm. IDEA Relief is still on the ground helping with the rescue, recovery, and rebuilding.
From Paola: “This is Briland, my handsome miniature pinscher! Like me, he lives on an island, and he loves to spend his day running on the beach! He had a happy life and came from a nice family. Usually, I say that I did not rescue him, for sure he rescued me. Every day makes me happy with all his love and loyalty!
Briland is an island dog; he does a lot of the activities I do in my spare time and as a photographer!
He likes to chase the horses and run with them, but they do not like him so much! So all the time we met them on the beach, Marty, the horseback riding man, gives Briland a ride. When Briland is on the top of the horses, he is quiet as he feels in charge, I think!
I would love to mention Briland Animal Rescue, an organisation based on our island with whom I volunteer that are collecting dogs and cats coming from Abaco and Freeport.”
Briland Animal Rescue has an Amazon Wishlist. Items purchased from their Amazon list will go directly to people and animals affected by Hurricane Dorian. You can also follow Briland Animal Rescue on Instagram.

What a beautiful dog and I love reading about the wish list on Amazon. It makes it so convenient to help out. We vacation every year on a Caribbean island and they all have a special place in my heart.
So precious! I like being on the beach too! And I love his outfits. I wish I could dress up my cats.
That is one cute dog and he seems to love to be the center of attention. Wether he is running on the beach or riding he lights it up.
this is one sweet pup who looks adorable in these photos- def adore a little pinscher!
What a cute little miniature pinscher! I absolutely adore all small dogs.
Great pics of your dog! It’s adorable. I especially like the one with the yellow feathers or whatever. Briland looks like a sunflower!
The first two photos remind me of those we took with daughter’s Chi and JD (a Rottweiler) when he was the same size she was. So funny. Didn’t last long, though.
Briland is so cute, I’m glad that he didn’t lose his home in the hurricane. Thanks for sharing these easy ways for us to help the people and animals who were impacted in such a huge way.
I love this MinPin. What a gorgeous stance this dog has. I love the story about chasing the horses.
I’d never heard about mini pinschers before now! So. Darn. Adorable! And that little yellow flower collar? Cute as a button! A warm hello to Briland from Denay in California!
Aww.. He is really adorable! It makes me want to see him in person. I love all his wonderful outfits so much.
That is one good looking dog you have there. Something in him that makes me like him instantly. Very adorable!
