Even if you have a million photos of your pet on your phone, it is still a great idea to hire a professional photographer to get family photos. Jen and Blair hired Crystal from Chase Magic Photography to take their family photos. In addition to being a Calgary pet photographer, Crystal is also a gallery designer specializing in wall portraits of people and their pets. As you’ll see, the toughest part might be narrowing down the pictures to display.
From Crystal: “My clients Jen and Blair were so easy going and happy. At their consultation, they joked around about the Friends episode where Chandler and Monica were getting portraits done, and Chandler could NOT make a genuine smile. They didn’t want their photos to look like that, and I don’t blame them! 
Luckily telling them to give me their best Chandler smiles was enough to get a couple of good laughs! They included their dogs, Nemo and Jasper.
Nemo (the thin white and tan dog “fox terrier”) is a rescue from our Humane Association in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
As for their session, we were worried Nemo would freak out about the light rain, as his mom said he hates even spitting rain. But as you can see from the wet spots on his nose, it did rain, and he still impressed me! Having his dog dad nearby eased any nervousness Nemo had. He gazed into my eyes, lovingly as I took his photos. He was so wonderful.
Jasper had a ton of excitement that we had to reign in with lots of treats. As I took photos of Nemo, Jasper barked at us, almost telling me that HE wanted to be in front of the camera! He was hilarious!”
From Jen: “Jasper (the black and white dog) is just hilarious and has so many facial expressions! (eye roll, unimpressed, quintessential puppy dog eyes) and will sometimes nose at your non-petting hand, as if to say: ‘Don’t be lazy!‘ He will give you extra kisses if he knows you’re feeling down.
Nemo is such a sweet dog. He worships Blair and gives the greatest hugs/cuddles. Two crazy things: Nemo sleeps at Blair’s feet in the winter, UNDER the covers, until he comes out gasping for breath/cool air. And he is dead weight. Once Nemo lays down, you can’t move him! He also has us sleeping almost off the bed some nights!”

What handsome dogs. I love how they sit so regally. I saw the movie The Art of Racing in the Rain and now all I can think about is if this dog will get to be human next time.
