A lot of people shy away from winter engagement sessions because of the cold. And while you shouldn’t go out in extreme temperatures, these engagement photos from Julia Jane Studios show just how pretty winter photography can be! And of course, since every photo is better with a dog in it, so I’m sharing the ones with Rudy, the mixed breed. He even has an awesome Save-The-Date sign.
From Julia: “Sam and Ash planned the perfect winter engagement session with their furbaby, Rudy. The light among the trees was absolutely gorgeous and the day was just the right temperature to keep their cheeks rosy but not too chilly to enjoy the afternoon.”

Great photos! I remember getting engaged in the Winter, but back in the 1970s, taking engagement photos wasn’t the thing. I always love seeing people including their pets in the photos.

Love the beautiful memories they’ve created with these gorgeous pictures. Until you mentioned it I don’t think I realised, most engagement photos do tend to be taken in the summer but why wait? The scenery is just as lovely and the people, and dog, just as happy!!

Always the stunning photos tell the story. The ring in the tree?! What a cool idea! And of course the dog has to approve, LOL!

I always look forward to the pictures on your blog. I think doing an engagement shoot in winter is more unique and it makes me think “warm and cozy”… like a marriage should feel 🙂 My hubby and I did our engagement session in fall.

These photos are adorable! We’ve always wanted to take photos with our dog, but I’m not sure it would go over too well haha he’s not the most cooperative.

These are so lovely and what a wonderful keepsake forever. I wish we did something like this with my horses and dogs when I became engaged (a loooooong time ago)…it was not something that was done at the time…but for my daughter’s wedding, which I photographed, I certainly did include two of our Huskies (both of my boys! Her girls were not so cooperative! LOL!) It made for such a lovely photo. I always love your special event photos! Just warms my heart! <3

A winter session looks challenging but, as we see, it can be gentle, genuine and very successful.
