The main idea behind the Daily Dog Tag was to encourage more people to get professional photos of their dogs. I also hoped to promote dog adoption. This lifestyle session from Amanda Emmes Photography is a prime example of what I hope people will do! Amanda went to Oahu, Hawaii, and photographed these three rescues who now have an amazing place to call home!
From Amanda: “Laurie, the owner of these three cuties, is the pup mom of all pup moms! She flew me over to Oahu from Maui to capture a day’s worth of sessions based around her property, her gardens, and the three loves of her life, all of which, are rescues.
Champ is the little Chihuahua. He is going on 13 years old and is deaf. Champ was the first rescue of the three.
Chloe is the big-eyed and beautiful beagle. She was rescued from a puppy mill when she was just a puppy.
Sarah is the older beagle who, after a routine surgery a few years ago, became permanently blind and now feels and bumps her way around her home with a smile.
Rescued from a puppy mill after having over six litters. She was the second pup adopted, but a day later, Laurie went back to the center and adopted Chloe because she felt Sarah needed a partner in crime – and today, they’re quite the pair!
The sweetest pups ever with, of course, the greatest mother ever.”
I asked Amanda if the volcano impacted this family, and she told me no.

All of these photos are just too precious! They perfectly capture a senior dog’s sweetness. We have a soft spot for seniors; our first foster dog was a 10 year old Husky.

Some of these pups are tinier than our cats here in New Zealand. Aren’t they just the cutest, and the pictures are just beautiful.
