When I first saw these images from Rachael Hall Photography, I was smitten with the sweet French bulldog looking out of the photos. After reading her story, I knew you would want to “meet” her as well! Thanks to a rescue, a foster, and now a forever home, Paige’s life has forever changed for the better.
From Rachael: “Paige is a sweet little 4-year-old Frenchie whom my sister, Jenna, adopted in October 2014. Jenna had been wanting a dog for a long time and researched for months before finding Paige on a Facebook group which had posted her PetFinder.com link. Paige was living with a foster mom in a tiny town in Oklahoma. Paige had been a puppy mill mama, and by the tender age of 3 had given birth to multiple litters. She is a tiny dog; folks still ask her age because she doesn’t have the normally rotund, stocky body type that many Frenchies have.
Jenna drove from Austin, Texas, (8 hours one-way) to Oklahoma and back to adopt Paige. It has been True Love ever since. I have never witnessed a dog’s transformation by love like this before; Paige cries when Jenna leaves for work sometimes.
She enjoys long naps, eating, resistance runs in the neighborhood and playing with her ball. Paige has a polite understanding with our cat, Kitty, but they are not exactly close friends.
From Jenna: “Recently I starting having severe attacks of vertigo. I’m just trying to learn to live with the dizziness and keep any more attacks from happening. I’ve been pretty drained from the physical and emotional toll it’s taking.
Paige has been by my side, nursing me through this ordeal for the past week and a half. Literally, she hasn’t left my side. She just snuggles up to me in bed and stays there as long as I’m there. She doesn’t get antsy or want to play or even let me know she needs to use the bathroom. She just holds it and doesn’t move until I do. And she consistently lifts her sweet head to look at me pitifully as if she’s trying to assess if I’m going to be okay. She’s just a little comforting angel. I feel bad because she just sits there with a sad face as I weep and cry and pray that I’ll be normal again soon. She’ll even crawl up on my chest and put her face directly in mine and stare into my eyes. It’s the sweetest thing ever.
I love her so much, and I’m so lucky to have her.”
My guess is that Paige considers herself fortunate to have Jenna in her life as well!
Please consider adopting a dog instead of buying one. Dogs like Paige deserve so much better!
